mada

 

まだ / mada can mean either “still; yet” or “not yet”, depending on whether the verb is positive or negative:

 

彼はまだ子供です。

Kare wa mada kodomo desu.

He is still a child.

 

まだ分かりません。

Mada wakarimasen.

I still don’t understand. (I don’t understand yet.)
