Forming the negative tenses of the desu-masu-tai

 

The negative non-past and negative past forms of the desu-masu-tai are formed as follows:

 

 

 

 

Negative non-past:

 

ます  ません , or masu masen

 

Negative Past:

 

ます  ません+でした , or masu masen + deshita

 

Usage examples:

 

私はお酒を飲みません。

Watashi wa o-sake of nomimasen.
