冷却化 = reikyakuka = cooling off; often used to describe estrangement.
I gleaned the following example from a Japanese news report on North Korea's trade results for the previous quarter.
日朝関係の冷却化に伴い日本との貿易が減少しました。
Nitchoo kankei no reikyaku-ka ni tomonai Nihon to no booeki ga genshoo shimashita.
A chill between Japan and North Korea lead to a decrease in trade between the two countries.
